Almost Perfect Vintage Conditions The 2022 vintage has proved one of the most perfect in recent memory. A damp winter replenished the water table allowing vines to come to life in early spring. Although spring frost threatened, especially in Chablis, yields survived mostly intact and the warmth and sun that followed meant growers could enjoy a plentiful supply of beautifully formed grapes. The prolonged period of heat throughout the summer was tempered by perfectly timed periods of rain at the end of June and mid-August, supplying the vines with precious water, and mercifully short and localised bouts of crop-destroying hail. This resulted in good quantities of high-quality grapes for the first time in many years.
